ZAMBOANGA CITY - To demonstrate the City’s gratitude and appreciation to retiring employees of the City Government, Mayor Beng Climaco has feted 32 retirees in a special ceremony dubbed “Despedida de Agradecimiento para los Retirados de Govierno”.
Organized by the City Human Resource and Management Office, the event affords the mayor the opportunity to be with the retirees who had served the city with dedication and commitment until they reached their compulsory retirement age of 65.
Mayor Climaco expressed deep gratitude to the retirees for contributing to the thrust of enhancing government service that increased the city’s competitiveness. “Ta agradece gayot yo con ustedes por todo de ustedes esfuerzo na govierno. Ustedes ya sirvi con sinceridad y dedicacion.”
The retirees were also honored with a program and given tokens as a final tribute and salutation to their long years in service.
Some department heads and other officials were also present during the event including CHRMO head Dr. Jane Bascar, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Socorro Rojas, City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Rodrigo Sicat, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Dr. Elmeir Apolinario, City Assessor Erwin Bernardo, General Services Officer Engr. Rene de la Cruz, Assistant Budget Officer Ferdie Alvarez and Assistant City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Eduardo Bisquera and Zamboanga City Government Employees Association president Elinor Suarez.
