PAL to resume commercial flights in Sulu

SULU - Officials of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Philippine Air Lines (PAL) executives have visited the southern province of Sulu and inspected the renovated airport in the capital town of Jolo following proposals to resume commercial flights there.

Officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) also accompanied the group.
Gov. Toto Tan led provincial and municipal officials in welcoming the group Monday for talks in resuming flights from Sulu to Zamboanga and vice versa.

Former Gov. Sakur Tan was also there to welcome the executives and he expressed appreciation to DOTr and PAL for their strong interest in resuming commercial flights that will benefit travellers.

PAL and other airline companies had previously operated in Jolo with maximum of 3 flights a day.

The governor thanked DOTr and PAL executives for visiting Sulu. Among those who met with Tan were DOTr project engineer Manuel Lazam, CAAP Asst. Director Jose Mendoza and project engineer Julian Lobrego; and PAL Managers Christopher Biscocho and Jurge Amba, Arvin Gastardo, Runnie Caesar and Arnel Tabaniag.

And also Superintendents Wilson Santos and Rodecinto Reales of the Aviation Police. And Brig. Gen. Divino Rey Pabayo of the Joint Task Force Sulu. (Mindanao Examiner)
