THE DEPARTMENT of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reported 29 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among Filipinos abroad and 51 new recoveries, raising the tally to 5,430 and 2,346, respectively.
The death toll also rose to 382 after two new fatalities in the Middle East were logged on June 10.
"The DFA, through its Foreign Service Posts, continues to monitor the status of our nationals and stands ready to assist returning Filipinos affected by the Covid-19 pandemic," the DFA said.
There are at least 2,702 overseas Filipinos still undergoing treatment abroad-- 108 in Asia Pacific region, 467 in Europe, 1862 in the Middle East/Africa, and 265 in the Americas.
Meanwhile, the fatalities are highest in the Americas with 153, followed by Middle East/Africa with 136, Europe with 91, and Asia Pacific region with two. (By Joyce Ann L. Rocamora)
