LSIs in Army facility get food aid from private donors

SEVERAL PRIVATE  organizations donated food items to locally stranded individuals being sheltered at the Philippine Army Wellness Center (PAWC) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City Tuesday.

PA spokesperson Col. Ramon Zagala said the "Alagang Kapatid Foundation" led the distribution of food and other items donated by Maynilad, Makati Medical Center, One Meralco, PLDT-Smart and Metro Pacific Investments Foundation.
The donation consists of 1,804 bottles of drinking water, 1,000 food packs, 700 pieces of assorted drinks and 100 apple pies.
“We are elated with the generosity of different stakeholders benefitting our locally stranded individuals. Their sense of social responsibility is aligned with our mission to assist and provide for the people negatively affected by this pandemic. We will continue to partner with other private groups and individuals in order to serve more LSIs,” Zagala added.
As of July 14, the PA is providing shelter and aiding 269 LSIs at the PAWC and another 436 at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani. (By Priam Nepomuceno)
