THE COMMISSION on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday said its offices under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) are closed.
In an advisory, the poll body said its offices in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, National Capital Region (NCR) will cease operations.
It added that the issuance of voter’s certification from these offices is temporarily suspended for the duration of MECQ from August 4 to August 18.

The Comelec added that issuance of said certification by Election Records and Statistics Department (ERSD) and Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) in its main office in Intramuros, Manila is temporarily suspended.

On Tuesday, the Comelec announced that its offices in Intramuros, Manila will be closed for two weeks as it will undergo extensive disinfection and decontamination.
It said all departments and offices in the main office, as well as the Offices of the Regional Election Director of the National Capital Region, Region 4-A (Calabarzon) and Region 4-B (Mimaropa) will be closed to the public.
It added that its offices and employees will continue to perform their functions on a work-from-home basis. (By Ferdinand Patinio)
