Solon slams malicious reports over PRRD’s health

SENATOR CHRISTOPHER  “Bong” Go has dismissed malicious and baseless reports claiming President Rodrigo Duterte was airlifted from Davao City to Singapore over the weekend due to a medical emergency.

Go also urged those behind the lies to stop spreading fake news.
Go said during an interview with Erwin Tulfo on August 18.
(The President is just working. He is in Davao and he is doing his task as the President. In fact, our President hardly rests because he is monitoring the situation.)
Go said the President continues to be healthy and work despite being 75 years old.
On Monday, the senator released a photo of the President dining with his family in their home in Davao City.
He also posted a live video on Facebook of Duterte before a meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. also assured the public that there had been no medical emergency and the President has not left Davao.
Instead, various precautions have been taken to ensure his health and safety.
Later in the IATF meeting, President Duterte denied reports of him leaving the country and stressed that a “leader will always stay during a crisis”.
Those who are creating fake news, you should really be held liable),” Go said, noting that it is okay to criticize the President and other public officials if they see something to improve the delivery of government services.
Go expressed his dismay over the inaccurate reports of the President’s health that keep circulating which could create panic and worsen the ongoing crisis.
He also encouraged the public to be vigilant with the information they receive and always validate the accuracy of these reports.
(We are now facing a health crisis and you are giving problems to Filipinos, who would be alarmed because something has happened to their Tatay Digong… My appeal is for us to help each other, don’t spread fake news. It’s not helping.)
