TWO FEMALES including a 17-year-old student, were arrested for alleged sale and possession of PHP360,400 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Bakod Bayan here Wednesday night.
Rosemarie Santos, 41, of Barangay Bakod Bayan, and the minor from Barangay Camp Tinio, were collared in a buy-bust by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), city, and other police teams.
Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito, head of the NEPPO’s Drug Enforcement Unit, said on Thursday an undercover police officer initially managed to buy a sachet of shabu using a marked PHP500 bill from the suspects.
During the arrest, however, operatives reportedly recovered nine more sachets from Santos and 11 others from the student.
The suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (By Marilyn Galang)
