MAYOR BENG Climaco distributed cash aid to nearly 4,000 people, mostly senior citizens, indigents and Covid-19 survivors as part of her administration’s continuing assistance to the vulnerable sectors of the society.
“Por medio del maga programa que solamente di aton administracion ya inicia, el maga senior citizens ta recibĂ maga beneficio que ta dale grande ayuda canila especialmente durante el pandemia,” said Climaco, who is running for congress in District 1.
The assistance, she said, serves both District 1 and District 2, adding over 2,300 senior citizens have benefited from the cash incentives released by the local government through the City Social Welfare and Development Office on February 25.
Nearly 1,500 people from the other vulnerable sectors and over 500 Covid-19 survivors and 238 indigents also received financial assistance from the Local Social Amelioration Program.
Those who received the aid praised Climaco and have vowed to “support her all the way,” according to one of the mayor’s aides.
“Despite the holidays, we distributed cash
assistance under the Local Social Amelioration Program to Covid-19 survivors,
senior citizens and people with disabilities.
We thank local government workers and all those who helped facilitate the pay-out. Miles de gracias Team Zamboanga LGU who worked even on holidays to provide financial assistance to those who are badly in need of assistance.”
