COTABATO CITY – At least 3 people were killed and 9 others injured after their truck rolled out of control on a village in Sultan Kudarat’s Lebak town in southern Philippines, reports said Monday.
The truck driver lost his control of the truck after its brake system malfunctioned. The driver - who was among those injured - rammed his truck onto the foot of the hill in an effort to stop it from speeding, but it rolled instead pinning the passengers to death.
All the fatalities in the weekend tragedy were adult and the injured passengers were rushed to hospital for medical emergency.
The truck was said to be owned by a construction company. (Mindanao Examiner)
