DAVAO CITY – A policeman assigned in Sulu province was killed during a drug bust in Digos City in the southern Philippine province of Davao del Sur, reports said Tuesday.
It said PO1 Alfadzri Malli Idris was slain during a shootout with undercover policemen in the village of San Miguel. Idris allegedly engaged policemen who tried to arrest him after he reportedly sold crystal methamphetamine to the agents.
Police agents also recovered 18 packets of the illegal drugs from Idris, including his guns – a .38-caliber revolver and a .380 pistol and his identification card.
Police said they were still checking on the status of Idris on the police data base. Idris initially passed himself off to the agents as a native of Zamboanga City.
There was no immediate statement from the provincial or regional police force on the killing of Idris. (Mindanao Examiner)
