SULU – Governor Sakur Tan has urged the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to strengthen its anti-narcotics drive in Sulu province and to work closely with the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Customs, including the police and military to prevent the entry of illegal drugs here.
Illegal drugs such as crystal meth were being smuggled to Sulu from Mindanao.
“The cooperation among regulatory and law enforcement agencies is very important in the fight against illegal drugs,” Tan told new PDEA provincial director Aldous Restor, who paid his courtesy call to the governor.
PDEA also thanked Tan for his strong support to the government’s anti-drug campaign and the governor, in return, also praised the agency for its unrelenting drive in Sulu.
Tan, a sports advocate, also encouraged the youth to stay focus on their education and sports and help in promoting peace and development instead of engaging in bad vices such as drugs which is haram or against Islam. (Zamboanga Post)
