3 dead in shootout inside army base in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY – An army soldier was shot dead after he killed his two superiors following a heated argument inside a military camp in the southern Filipino province of Sulu, reports said.
It said Corporal Jack Indap killed First Lieutenant Ryan Lamoste and Major Rael Gabot late Friday at the headquarters of the 9th Field Artillery Battalion in the village of Liang Patikul town.
Lamoste confronted Indap who was caught beating up Private Ralph Patongao. Indap was believed intoxicated and had a heated argument with Lamoste. Gabot was about to pacify Indap when he opened fire and shot the two officers with his automatic rifle.
Second Lieutenant Clint John Cenita, who witnessed the amok, quickly shot Indap and fatally hitting him. The trio was rushed to the military hospital in Jolo, but had been declared dead.

The Western Mindanao Command in Zamboanga and the 11th Infantry Division in Sulu did not issue a statement, but the news broke out only on Saturday night after Facebook was flooded with reports of the shooting. And the Philippine Army headquarters in Manila only confirmed the report late Saturday. (Zamboanga Post)
