THE PHILIPPINE National Police based in Davao de Oro province has arrested a total of 144 most wanted persons from October to December 2019.
According to the report of the Davao de Oro Provincial Police Office (DDOPPO), the accomplishment exceeds last year’s number of 101 persons only, or an increase of 42.57 percent.
Police Colonel Joselito Loriza, provincial director Davao de Oro Provincial Police Office (DDOPPO), attributed the substantial increase in the arrest of wanted persons to the intensified implementation of manhunt Charlie.
He added that the program is the PNP's sustained and intensified campaign against wanted persons, vigorous liaising with the courts in the province to ensure warrants of arrest not served are collated, and lateral coordination with other law enforcement counterparts and different concerned agencies.
Aside from this, the Davao de Oro police also apprehended 58 persons during the 25 illegal gambling operations; and eight persons on illegal possession of firearms. (By Michael Uy)
