PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP) chief Archie Gamboa on Wednesday bared that he has a list of illegal gambling operators in all the regions of the country.
Gamboa said he already gave the list of illegal gambling operators to the regional police directors.
"We are going against them. Lahat ng illegal gambling from low to high [We are going against them... All of them, from low to high]," Gamboa told reporters in a press briefing.
He also ordered policemen to conduct "aggressive" operations against illegal gambling.
"Yes, in the next few months, heads will roll if you don't follow my instructions. If you don't do aggressive operations and you don't start relieving your chiefs of police, then I will not be convinced," Gamboa said.
Gamboa also warned police officers that they would have to answer for their failure to stop illegal gambling operations in their areas.
He is also convinced that some policemen act as protectors of illegal gambling operators.
Gamboa also urged gamblers and operators to stop engaging in this illegal activity.
"Anyway, yun lang naman pakiusap ko, huminto na kayo eh [That is my only request. Please stop]. Otherwise, you will face the full force of the law," Gamboa said.
Gamboa also said he eyes to strengthen the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to catch cops protecting gambling lords.
Furthermore, Gamboa reiterated that eradicating illegal gambling is part of the internal cleansing under his helm.
"We have to convince the people that we are serious on everything, that the PNP does not protect any illegal activities that other citizens do," he added.
