1 killed, 7 wounded in Zambo truck crash

PAGADIAN CITY – A dump truck overshot a road and crashed, killing a passenger and wounding six more in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay, police said Tuesday.

The truck, owned by Ayesha Construction, was transporting workers when its driver, JR Tamanan Olarte, lost control of the wheel and overshot the road in the village of Catipan in Mabuhay town, said Major Helen Galvez, a regional police spokeswoman.
“One person was killed and six others are wounded in the mishap,” she said.
The 29-year old driver was unhurt in the accident and is now in police custody. The wounded passengers were rushed to the hospital in nearby Olutanga town. The company did not release any statement.  (Zamboanga Post)
