PNP Chief out of danger, 2 Generals unstable after chopper crash in Laguna

ACTING  PNP spokesperson Maj. Gen Bong Durana confirmed that Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa is now out of danger after the chopper crashing incident in San Pedro City in Laguna on March 5, 2020.  

 
Gamboa and the other five co-passengers including spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac are now safe, but PNP Director for Intelligence Major Gen. Mariel Magaway and Director for Comptrollership Major Gen. Jonvic Ramos who were also boarded in the same chopper are still in “unstable” condition.
 
Durana said PNP Chief Gamboa was taken to St. Lukes Medical Center in Taguig City after the helicopter crashed.
 
While, MGen Magaway is admitted in Asian Hospital Alabang and MGen Ramos is still in Uni Health Southwoods Hospital and Medical Center in BiƱan City.
 
They were on their way to a command visit at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City when the mishap happened.
 
Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran of the Laguna police said the helicopter was carrying eight individuals, including Gamboa and the two Generals.
 
“The crash site is now cordoned off while investigations are on-going,” Gaoiran said.
 
Initial reports said the helicopter took off under poor visibility and got in contact with a wire causing the crash.
 
Durana appeals to the public to intently pray for the swift and safe recovery of all the crashing incident survivors.  ( By Rachel Joy Gabrido)
