94 new Covid-19 cases, 34 new deaths among overseas Pinoys

THE DEPARTMENT of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported Monday that 94 more Filipinos abroad were infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the recorded number of persons overseas contracting the disease to 2,617.   

Ten more people have recovered while 34 new deaths were recorded in Europe and the Middle East.
No new reports were received from the Americas and Asia and the Pacific.
The total number of recovered cases overseas is now 889. The death toll has climbed to 328.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,400 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.
"Based on the latest figures, Europe and the Middle East still have the highest number of Covid-19 positive Filipinos, Asia and the Pacific has the fewest number of cases, while the Americas still has the highest number of fatalities," the DFA said. (By Ma. Teresa Montemayor)
