Bishops to lead consecration of PH to Mary on May 13

CATHOLIC PRELATES  will lead the country's consecration to the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic on Wednesday.   

The eucharistic celebration also marks the 103rd anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13.
Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Apostolic Administrator of Manila will celebrate the Mass at noon and the consecration at the Manila Cathedral.
The event dubbed as “National Consecration to the Immaculate of Mary: We pray as one. We heal as one. We renew the world as one” to be led by Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles.
Other participants include Malolos Bishop Dennis Villarojo who will deliver the Preliminary prayers, the first Glorious Mystery will be recited by Pabillo; second Glorious Mystery by Iba Bishop Bartolome Santos Jr.; third Glorious Mystery, by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma; fourth Glorious Mystery by Palo Archbishop John Du and fifth Glorious Mystery by Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Antonio Ledesma.
Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo will say the concluding prayers while the act of consecration will be conducted by Valles.
The simultaneous prayer will be held to ask the grace and compassion of the Lord to end the pandemic and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the healing and recovery of those who are sick and to provide strength and protection to all front-liners and the Filipino people.
Meanwhile, heads of local government units (LGU) who will attend the event are Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso, Mandaluyong Mayor Carmelita Abalos, Pasay Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Makati Mayor Abigail Binay and San Juan Mayor Francisco Zamora.
The five mayors will offer a flower as a sign of filial trust and devotion to the Blessed Mother after the eucharistic celebration.
The faithful is invited to witness the event as it will be simulcast live in Radio Veritas, Social Communications Ministry of the Diocese of Cubao and Social Communications Ministry of the Diocese of Malolos from the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Valenzuela City.
Also, the faithful can hear live the simultaneous praying of the Holy Rosary at National Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Radio Veritas 846 AM band and online streaming.
