AUTHORITIES RESCUED Arani Hajiba the woman who escaped from a PUI facility in the city more than a week ago. She was found along MacArthur Highway, Matina-Balusong this city.
According to Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, the rescue was done through the effort of a dedicated tracker team assigned by the Davao City Police Office, after she escaped from a person-under-investigation facility at the Queensland Inn.
She said that Hajiba was diagnosed to have mild-COVID symptoms.
“It is good that she back to the facility again,” Duterte-Carpio said.
She said the police has to once again do a contact tracing on Hajiba.
Duterte-Carpio stressed the need to trace the persons Hajiba met and the places she had been to since May 9, when she escaped from the designated PUI facility in Queensland Motel .
She also revealed that three of the passengers who failed in their respective rapid tests following their mercy flight last May 12 and the food deliverer from the Food Panda last week turned out to be COVID-19 positive in their respective polymerase chain reaction tests at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
“It is good that they are now confined at the hospital,” Duterte-Carpio said.
She warned people to be wary of their safety especially when going out in public places especially on interacting with people.
Duterte-Carpio said people must know the ways to protect themselves from the transmission of the COVID-19 infection.
She said that mourning and vigilance are declared this year, the people must empathize with those who lost their love ones because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efforts and sacrifices of the front liners.
“Vigilance must still be observed by everyone so that we will not overwhelm the medical facilities this year, despite our reserves of 503 beds,” Duterte-Carpio said.
