A PATIENT who had recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) then tested positive anew is now considered cleared, the Department of Health (DOH) 12 (Soccsksargen) reported on Friday night.
Arjohn Gangoso, DOH-12 health education, and promotions officer said the 59-year-old male patient (PH3669) has turned out negative for Covid-19 based on the result of his fourth repeat test released by the Southern Philippines Medical Center laboratory in Davao City.
Gangoso said PH3669 underwent testing via oropharyngeal swab last May 3, six days after his third repeat on April 28 which yielded a positive result.
Citing the DOH protocol, he said confirmed Covid-19 patients who have clinically recovered or are well with negative results on repeat testing would be reported as recovered.
“Currently, PH3669 is stable and completing the 14-day strict home quarantine,” Gangoso said in a statement.
PH3669, the 11th confirmed Covid-19 case in Soccsksargen, was among the cockfighting aficionados here who attended a derby in Davao City in March that had been linked to several infections.
