Monitor suspected Covid-19 cases: Mayor Beng

ZAMBOANGA CITY remains under a strict enhanced community quarantine following the approval by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases the request of Mayor Beng Climaco to extend the regulation until May 15 in an effort to address the health pandemic.

This was also confirmed by Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque in an interview by a local television channel on Friday.

The local task force Covid-19 headed by Mayor Beng Climaco said additional 19 new cases were also reported Friday bringing the total number of infected people to 30. 

The latest addition in positive Covid-19 cases were just the initial outcome of the tests conducted April 27 by St. Luke's Medical Center through the City Health Office from 119  inmates at the reformatory center and a jail personnel. 

The local government continues to monitor hundreds of suspected cases of novel coronavirus as it reminded residents to practice physical distancing and maintain cleanliness at all time.

Climaco said over 400 cases were being monitored by health authorities after 11 people tested positive for the deadly respiratory disease died since March. (Zamboanga Post)
