BOHOL HAS recorded 17 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), all locally stranded individuals (LSI) who returned to the province.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases in Bohol to 27, nine of whom have recovered.
The latest recoveries were a nurse and a nursing aid of a private hospital here. An octogenarian is the lone fatality in the province.
Governor Arthur Yap on Monday said the Covid-19 cases in Bohol remain at less than 1 percent of the 5,704 Boholanos who have arrived in the province either as returning overseas Filipinos or LSIs.
Out of the number, 2,020 have been sent home to their families after completing the 14-day quarantine and testing negative for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the provincial government, through its Offshore Boholanos Coordinating Team, has sent PHP19.1 million to help 9,453 Boholanos stranded in other provinces.
The provincial government created the Facebook page “Locally Stranded Individuals - Bohol” where the names and contact details of the focal persons for LSIs of the receiving local government units are posted. (By Angeline Valencia)
