THOSE WHO lost their jobs due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic can apply to become an authorized agent of its games at an affordable price, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said Monday.
PCSO General Manager Royina Garma, in a press statement, said the agency has lowered the fees for this measure.
“This is what we call the 3n1 promo. Pay a one-time application fee of PHP2,500 and you can be a lotto, Keno and Sweepstakes agent, subject to compliance with other requirements,” she said.
She said the PCSO also decreased the renewal fee.
“We really want to reach out to those who lost their jobs, that’s why we in PCSO did not only lower the application fee but also the renewal fee. From PHP3,750 renewal fee, now it is only PHP1,000 for a period of two years,” Garma said.
Sales commission awaits agents for jackpot bearing games, they will get 7.5-percent sales commission, while 5-percent for Digit Games and Keno; and 10-percent for Scratch Cards.
Aside from the sales commission, lotto agents also get an additional 1 percent of the jackpot prize or a maximum of PHP1 million, as agent’s commission for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
“PCSO is here, not only to come to the aid of the indigent Filipinos needing medical assistance but also to offer them a means of livelihood,” Garma added.
“We need to help each other in order to overcome the harsh reality brought by this pandemic. PCSO is here to help both the government and the Filipino people face the challenges of the new normal,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the agency has released a total of PHP191,457,806 worth of medical assistance for 20,684 indigent Filipinos across the country in May.
The Medical Access Program (MAP) is designed to augment the medical needs of the Filipino people nationwide, particularly the need for hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines. The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide.
More than PHP30 million was released in National Capital Region, while PHP53.6 million worth of assistance was availed in Northern and Central Luzon; PHP42.6 million in Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region; PHP40.1 million in the Visayas and PHP24.1 million in Mindanao(By Christopher Lloyd Caliwan)
