SK Sarangani presents 'SCOVID DO IT' program in Network Briefing

THE SANGGUNIANG  Kabataan (SK) of Sarangani presented the “SCOVID DO IT, Sarangan Youth Fight against COVID” program in today’s Network Briefing with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar.

The program “aims to recognize and give awards not only to our youth who participates and help to fight against this COVID19 pandemic but also to those who observe the protocols and rules set by our government for their safety,” SK Provincial Federation President Rheymar Dian said.
He added that through the program young individuals in the province could showcase in a video their productive activities that have kept them busy and give them reasons to stay home.
They are encouraged to submit videos and memes based on the three components of the program, namely SarangBayanihan - a story of youth and their act of volunteerism; SarangTahanan - staying at home ganap; and SarangTawanan - fun, positivity and hope amidst COVID19 Pandemic, he explained.
Under the SCOVID DO IT program, participants are advised to submit their videos/entries under each category and the Provincial Development Council will select the winners.
Those that were already declared winners had received prizes and their videos were featured on the Sulong Kabataan-Sarangani Province Page.
“Through these prizes given by the province, the youth were able to buy their essential goods for their consumption and also for their family,” Dian explained.
When Sec. Andanar asked Dian what prompted him to incorporate protocols and values of the national government to their local projects, he replied that it was to lessen the boredom of the youth so as not to violate the stay at home protocol.
“May protocol po tayo na stay at home, at yung mga kabataan po, as in po, alam ko naman po na hindi makapag-stay at home, kung walang magagawa kasi nasanay po eh, gustong lumabas at mag-meet ng mga barkada, mga friends, classmates. And by this project po, nakakatulong po tayo na maibsan ang boredom sa loob ng bahay, sa pamamagitan ng paggawa ng video at i-post po sa social media,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Dian also urged his fellow youth to listen to authorities, follow health protocols, and help the government fight COVID-19 by staying home.
“Sa mga kabataang Sarangan, hinaot na maminaw ta ug mag-follow ta sa mga protocols, konting tiis nalang, laban lang ta, tinabangay lang jud. Stay at home, stay safe. God bless!”
