IN LINE with efforts to contain the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and WTA Architecture+Design Studio turned over two emergency quarantine facilities (EQFs) to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital Tuesday.
The 73rd and 74th EQFs can accommodate up to 25 patients with mild to no symptoms, AFP public affairs office chief, Navy Capt. Jonathan Zata said in a statement Wednesday.
These projects were funded by Reckitt Benckiser Philippines and the city government of Taguig.
The facilities were built through the efforts of the Office of The Chief Engineer, AFP led by Maj. Gen. William Ilagan through the construction team of 51st Engineering Brigade of the Philippine Army together with Architect Jeffrey Cheah of WTA as the site supervisor.
The EQF team aims to complete 75 EQFs within and outside Metro Manila and has already completed 74 since March 28.
“The collective efforts of our partners and our troops pay off in a way that the entire nation is benefiting. You can rely on our organization to continue doing these efforts in the name of service,” AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Felimon Santos Jr. said.
Present during the turnover ceremony were Architect William Ti Jr. of the WTA Architecture + Designs Studio and AFP deputy chief engineer Col. Arnfin Arce and 51st Engineering Brigade commander Col. Lyndon Sollesta. (By Priam Nepomuceno)
