ZAMBOANGA CITY – Government militias killed an army soldier and three other militias and wounded for more people in a daring attack in the town of Tipo-Tipo in the southern Philippine province of Basilan, security officials said Saturday.
Officials said the gunmen fled after the shooting which occurred Friday evening near an army post in the village of Bohe Lebbung.
Police were investigating the attack, but there was a report that the assault was triggered by a grudge between one of the raiders, Karim Manisan, and the soldier, Pfc. Mark Anthony Monte.
The Western Mindanao Command has not released any report of the shooting. (Zamboanga Post)
