More businesses, gov't offices resumes operations under MGCQ

ALL INSTITUTIONS  both in government and private service are operational under modified general community quarantine with massage parlors and fitness gyms are now gradually allowed to work at 50 percent.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio explained that the other entities belonging to the Category Four of the Department of Trade and Industry Memorandum Circular 20-22 may return to work on fifty percent and 25 percent respectively.
“All offices in the City Hall will shift full operation by Monday July 6, 2020. I call on everyone to follow health protocols because the virus remains active.  City Hall employees should take care of themselves because there are only 12,000 government workers to do the work,” she said.
Duterte-Carpio said curfew from nine o’clock in the evening to five in the morning will still be observed, while the liquor ban remains in effect until the word quarantine is lifted.
She stressed that food and medicine pass will still be used to control the movement of people.
“Consequently, there will still be no movement of people on Sundays", Duterte-Carpio said.
She said private entities have the option to close their establishments on  Sundays.
Duterte-Carpio said she did not expect that the city is placed under MGCQ because the number of COVID-19 patients is rising.
However, she said the city fits in the formula for it to be placed under the MGCQ category
Duterte-Carpio reiterated that riding-in-tandem will remain prohibited under MGCQ and called on everyone to wait for the guidelines to be issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government for its regulation.
Meantime, Duterte-Carpio said that religious practices like rites and rituals will be allowed 50 percent from Monday to Saturday but not on Sunday.
She also underscored that parks, museums and library under the city government will remain closed until December 31, 2020.
Duterte-Carpio said that the Roxas night market masseurs and manicurists will resume work but no definite date is cited.
“Libreng sakay will go on so as not to give the burden to the PUJs which are no longer allowed to carry the passengers to a full capacity.  The situation might cause the commuters to be stranded.”
Duterte-Carpio urged everyone to follow the health protocols like frequent hand washing, wearing of masks in public, 2-meter distance and bringing of alcohol for hand washing.(By Rudolph Ian Alama)
