THE LOW-pressure area (LPA) last spotted 30 kilometers north of Daet, Camarines Norte, will bring rains over most parts of Luzon and Eastern Visayas, a weather specialist said Thursday.
Ezra Bulquerin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA still has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Rgion 4-A (Calabarzon), and Eastern Visayas will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
Region 4-B (Mimaropa), Western and Central Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience the same weather condition, but due to the southwest monsoon affecting the western section of the country.
The rest of Mindanao will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Moderate winds will prevail over the extreme Northern Luzon, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (By Ma. Cristina Arayata)
