BARMM police honors Covid-19 front-liner cops

ELEVEN POLICE  officers who served as front-liners in the fight against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) were given recognition Monday for "meritorious accomplishments."


The police officers who are assigned with the Regional Health Service of the Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Region and one from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion were honored during ceremonies inside Camp Gen. S. K. Pendatun in Parang, Maguindanao.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, PRO-BARMM deputy director for administration, led the conferment of medals to the awardees.

The Medalya ng Papuri or the Philippine National Police (PNP) Commendation Medal was awarded to Col. Edgar Putiz; Corporals Christopher BarceloƱa, Ronnel Calagui, Jihad Matabalao, Zenas Atendido, Gennieveb Literato; and Patrolmen Amera Razid, Honey Lette Rojas, and Rachelle Ann Valdez for their valuable service and contribution in the PNP fight against Covid-19.

A commendation medal was also given to Staff Sgt. John Manuel Bongcawil for ranking second place nationwide to the Best Junior PNCO for 2020 during the 119th Police Service Anniversary last month.

Ugale said the awardees "truly manifested exemplary performance and must be emulated by other PNP personnel."

“We honor our few individuals who demonstrated exemplary devotion to their duties especially in this time of pandemic and recognize their outstanding performance above and beyond the call of duty,” Ugale said in his speech.

Brig. Gen. Manuel Abu, PRO-BARMM director, said the awards were to boost the morale of the police personnel in the region to demonstrate selfless service, dedication, and commitment to public service. (By Edwin FernandeZ)
