A MAGNITUDE 5.9 earthquake hit Davao Occidental anew on Wednesday afternoon, almost four hours after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a magnitude 5.7 quake in the province.
The tectonic quake's epicenter was 207 km. southeast of Sarangani, recorded at 3:18 p.m. Previous earthquake struck 208 km. of Sarangani.
The magnitude 5.9 quake had a depth of 10 km.
There were no reported intensities, which is the traditional way of knowing the intensity based on reports by people who felt the earthquake.
Phivolcs said aftershocks are possible, while damages are not expected from the two earthquakes. (By Ma. Cristina Arayata)
