FIFTY CORONAVIRUS disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients have recovered across Region 12 (Soccsksargen) as of Sunday, the regional health office reported.
Of the new recoveries, 24 were from South Cotabato; followed by Cotabato City with 14; General Santos City, eight; and Sarangani, four.
“Swift contact tracing, immediate isolation and ample treatment of those infected contributed much to the recovery of the patients,” Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for DOH-12, said.
However, amid the report on new recoveries, 24 cases were also added to the list of confirmed cases in the region on the same day.
Gangoso said North Cotabato logged 10 new confirmed cases, trailed by General Santos City, six; Cotabato City, four; South Cotabato, two; and Sarangani, two.
With this, cumulative confirmed cases in the region since March this year is at 1,109 with 573 recoveries or a 52 percent recovery rate.
There are presently 513 active cases and 22 deaths.
For about a month now, South Cotabato remains on top of the list as having the most number of active cases at 200; followed by General Santos City, 151; Cotabato City, 72; North Cotabato, 49; Sarangani, 24; and Sultan Kudarat, 17.
The province of South Cotabato and the cities of General Santos and Kidapawan have earlier declared cases of local transmission in their respective areas. (By Noel Punzalan)
