Zambo security forces lauded

MAYOR BENG Climaco lauded the police and military for securing the city’s grandest celebration called “Zamboanga Hermosa Festival” despite the limited public participation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Miles de gracias con el sector de seguridad por el tranquilo celebracion de Fiesta Pilar principiando na primer dia de novena, Octubre 3 hasta na culminacion del maga actividad este dia, Octubre 12,” Climaco said.

“Your unrelenting efforts and dedication to serve the ZamboangueƱos amidst the uncertainties is proof of your commitment to keep Zamboanga City safe and secure,” she added.

Among those whom the mayor praised and thanked were the Western Mindanao Command under Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan and the Regional Police headed by Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay, Jr. and all those who secured Zamboanga during the festival, especially the Our Nuestra SeƱora La Virgen del Pilar Shrine. 

Gen. Camilo Camilo Pancratius Cascolan also lauded the local and regional police during his recent visit here where he joined Climaco in the turnover of the newly-rehabilitated police building in downtown Zamboanga.

Also present during the ceremony were Cambay, Vice Mayor Rommel Agan, Councilors Josephine Pareja and Jimmy Villaflores; Col. Rexmel Reyes, the city police chief; and Maj. Elmer Solon, commander of Police Station 11, and other officials.

The rehabilitation project was funded by the Climaco administration and part of the mayor’s priority and flagship program. Cascolan thanked the mayor for the project.

Since 2013 when she was first elected, Climaco’s administration invested nearly to P2 billion for the security sector that covered infrastructure projects, logistics, fuel and maintenance, communication facilities, computers and office supplies, firearms and ammunition and allowances for policemen, among others.
