A FARM village will soon be put up in this province to boost its agricultural and tourism sectors.
Governor Aurelio Umali said the concept of the project is to promote the various agricultural programs of the provincial government while at the same time become a tourism destination.
“Ang aking hangarin ay makapagpatayo ng isang farm village na magiging modelo upang bigyan inspirasyon ang ating mga kababayan na pwede palang gawin ito sa ating mga bakuran. Ito po ang konsepto ng farm village na naglalayong palawakin ang industriya ng pagsasaka and hopefully, to use it also as a tourism destination (My goal is to build a farm village that will be a model to inspire our provincemates that they can do it in our own backyards. This is the concept of a farm village that aims to expand the farming industry and hopefully, to use it also as a tourism destination),” Umali said in an official social media account on Friday.
To be located in a nine-hectare lot in Barangay Manacnac, Palayan City, the farm village will feature projects on aquaculture, micro-chicken layering, cattle halal multiplier, vegetable gardens, modified palay program, among others.
Nipa huts made from indigenous materials, such as cogon grass and bamboo, and other structures that are typically seen in the province, will also be put up.
“Ito po ay imo-modelo natin upang sa ganun ay lumago ang ating food production, especially po sa pandemic, kailangan na mag-isip tayo ng mga paraan kung paano magkakaroon ng additional na kita at pagkain sa hapag kainan ang ating pamilya. With the grace of God, ito po magtutuloy upang marami tayong matulungan sa livelihood programs that we are trying to propagate dito sa lalawigan ng Nueva Ecija (We will model this so that to boost our food production, especially in the pandemic, we need to think of ways to have additional income and food at our family dining table. With the grace of God, this will push through so that we can help a lot in the livelihood programs that we are trying to propagate here in the province of Nueva Ecija),” he said.
Provincial tourism officer Jose San Pedro earlier said one of the objectives of the project is to enhance the province’s tourism sector.
“Layunin din ng programa na pataasin ang bilang ng mga turista at maging premiere farm tourism destination ito hindi lamang dito sa Nueva Ecija maging pati na rin sa buong Luzon (The program also aims to increase the number of tourists and become a premiere farm tourism destination not only here in Nueva Ecija but also throughout Luzon),” San Pedro said.
