CHIEF COVID frontliner Mayor Beng Climaco reminded residents to strictly follow health protocols as Zamboanga City remains under Moderate General Community Quarantine until end of the year.
“Zamboanga City remains under Modified
General Community Quarantine (MGCG) from December 1-31. However, strict
protocols will be in place for the Christmas season, as the COVID-19 threat
remains serious. The public is urged to continue to comply with all health and safety protocols and stay safe from Covid-19,”
she said.
Zamboanga’s MGCQ
status is based on the latest order
from the Inter-Agency Task Force on
Emerging Infectious Diseases following the low numbers of active Covid-19 cases
here.
Climaco, who heads the local task force on
Covid-19, has been appealed almost every day for residents to strictly follow
the health protocols and quarantine guidelines.
“Ta apela gat yo con todo con
ustedes favor gat kita coopera na de atun gobierno cay no quere gat kita subi
mas el incidente del Covid para aquellos que quierre busca vida na nuevo normal
ay puede tamen recubra el grande perdecion (na economia),” she said.
The number of active Covid-19 cases is now only
over 100 with nearly 3,000 people recovering from the deadly respiratory
disease since the start of the pandemic in March. From previous weeks, the
active Covid-19 cases rose above 700.
Zamboanga City Health Officer Dr Dulce Miravite
said community transmission remains to be the top cause of the surge in
Covid-19 cases due to the complacent attitude of residents. (Zamboanga Post)
