THE PROVINCIAL government here is implementing more stringent mass gathering measures to curb the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Event organizers in the province must seek the approval of the Bulacan Provincial Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19 Response led by Governor Daniel Fernando before any mass gathering.
In Executive Order No. 2, series of 2021 released on Wednesday, organizers are required to submit at least 10 calendar days before the date of the event a letter addressed to the Provincial PTF on Covid-19 Response, stating the nature of mass gathering to seek approval for its conduct.
The organizer must also submit a sworn statement stating that he or she is the responsible individual, and that under the pain of penalty imposed by applicable laws, must ensure that the mass gathering will be limited only to 50 percent of the venue capacity.
An after-activity report must also be submitted by the organizer within five days from the conduct of the event.
The governor said the EO is another way to avoid further spread of the disease that has paralyzed the whole world for almost a year.
“Hindi po tayo dapat na kumampante. Kasabay ng patuloy na pagbaba ng kaso ng Covid sa ating lalawigan, ilang lugar dito sa ating bansa ay nakararanas ng muling pagtaas ng kaso lalo na matapos ang panahon ng kapaskuhan. Upang maiwasan ang ganitong sitwasyon, hinihiling ko po ang mahigpit na pagsunod nating lahat (We must not be complacent. Along with the continuing decline of Covid cases in our province, some areas in our country are experiencing a resurgence of cases especially after the Christmas season. To avoid this situation, I ask for the strict compliance of all of us),” Fernando said in an official social media post.
As of Jan. 26, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in this province was 11,502 with 10,281 recoveries, 811 active cases and 410 deaths. (By Manny Balbin)
