AUTHORITIES ARRESTED a member of a robbery group tagged as Cagayan de Oro City's most wanted person in Quezon City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Friday.
In a statement, PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas said the suspect Joel Maglangit was arrested around 7:10 a.m. along Quirino Highway in Barangay Talipapa, Novaliches, Quezon City on Thursday.
Maglangit has a standing arrest warrant for murder issued by the Cagayan de Oro City Regional Branch 24 in 2010 for killing a certain Eddie Apus in October 2009.
According to Sinas, Maglangit is a member of the Flores Robbery/Hold-Up Group operating in Cagayan De Oro City.
“Our campaign against most wanted persons will continue to intensify to give justice to the victims who have been seeking recompense for many years", Sinas said.
The suspect is now under the temporary custody of the Quezon City Police District Station 3 for documentation and proper disposition before turning over to the court of origin. (By Christopher Lloyd Caliwan)
