Police said the killer escaped after shooting the 48-year Loisabelle Lee near her house in the village called Tetuan. Lee was driving her car and heading home when the assailant who was waiting for her in an alley, shot her in the chest late Thursday.

“The gunman just casually walked towards the car and shot the victim, hitting her in the chest,” said Captain Edwin Duco, the regional police spokesman, adding, the killer escaped on a motorcycle after the shooting.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Salazar ordered the local police force under Colonel Rexmel Reyes to investigate the killing. “I ordered the city police to conduct a thorough investigation into this senseless killing of Loisabelle Lee,” she said.

No individual or group claimed responsibility for the attack, but Duco said police are investigating the murder. (Zamboanga Post)
