THREE DRUG suspects, two of them pedicab drivers, were arrested and some PHP15,000 worth of shabu were confiscated in separate drug entrapment operations in this city, the police reported Thursday.
Maj. Elexon Bona, city police drug enforcement unit (CPDEU) chief, said first to be arrested was Alex Musa Villamor alias Ali, 42, a commuter van conductor. Seized from him were some PHP2,500 worth of shabu during a drug sting operation in Barangay Purok Maawain, Poblacion Mother on Wednesday noon.
“He did not resist arrest when surrounded by police agents after the exchange,” Bona said.
Also on Wednesday, a certain “Banda”, 30, pedicab driver, and resident of nearby Barangay Tanuel, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, was collared after dealing with a poseur-buyer around 3 p.m. at Sitio Bai Sulatan Road in Barangay Datu Balabaran here.
“Confiscated from him were 1.5 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP10,000,” Bona said.
Around 5 p.m on the same day., a third suspect, identified as Abdulaziz Macmod, also a pedicab driver, fell in an operation carried out by the CPDEU in Purok Lapu-Lapu, Barangay Rosary Heights 3 here.
"Macmod yielded shabu items worth PHP2,500 and the buy-bust money," Bona said.
All suspects are currently detained at the city police headquarters pending the filing of drug charges against them. (By Noel Punzalan)
