POLICE ARRESTED three drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, and seized some PHP20,000 worth of shabu, authorities said Tuesday.
Maj. Rommel Dela Vega, police chief of Datu Odin Sinsuat town, said suspects Datu Laguialam and his cohorts known only as Rasul and Abet were arrested at around 3 p.m. Monday along 14th Road, SPDA Subdivision, Barangay Semba.
Seized from them were three packets of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP20,000, an improvised shabu glass tooter, two disposable lighters, a scissor, marked money, and bullets for a .45 caliber pistol and M16 rifle.
“We have been trailing them for the past few days until we carried out the buy-bust operation,” dela Vega told reporters here in an interview Tuesday.
The suspects, currently detained at the Datu Odin Sinsuat police lockup facility, are facing charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act). (By Noel Punzalan)
