Tropical cyclone wind signal lifted as 'Crising' turns into LPA

THERE ARE  no more areas with cyclone wind signal as Tropical Depression "Crising" has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA), the weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. update Friday.

The LPA was last tracked in the vicinity of Piagapo, Lanao del Sur, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA still forecast light to moderate, with at times heavy rains over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental.

It also maintained that isolated flash flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible during heavy or prolonged rainfall.

Meanwhile, PAGASA forecast the LPA to continue moving westward or west northwestward and emerge over the Sulu Sea in the next six to 12 hours. (By Ma. Cristina Arayata)
