DOTr free rides for healthcare workers lauded

MAYOR BENG Climaco lauded the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for offering free rides to healthcare workers in Zamboanga City.

DOTr Secretary 'Aksyon' Art Tugade

Climaco said the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) which is under DOTr, recently launched its “Libreng Sakay for Healthcare Workers” and shall run until the end of June. 

“Thank you so much DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade and LTFRB (in Region 9) headed by Regional Director (Johnson) Almazan for the free rides. We thank you for this Libreng Sakay for Healthcare Workers program,” the mayor said. 

Almazan also said the program is pursuant to Republic Act No. 11519 or the Bayanihan II and aims to provide free rides exclusively for frontline healthcare workers. He said the Libreng Sakay for Healthcare Workers program has 3 routes plying hospital zones in the west coast, east coast, and the central business district. 

He said the schedule of trips are 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
