ZAMBOANGA JOINED eight other Philippine cities in the launching of the Digital and Information Communications Technology Roadmap which Mayor Beng Climaco said would serve as a blueprint of the city’s digital transformation.
“The roadmap will serve as a blueprint for the success of Zamboanga City with the business process management industry as the local government puts premium on data and information technology especially under the new normal,” she said during the June 28 virtual launching of the digital roadmap.
“We fully support this roadmap, we will work for the success of Zamboanga City,” she added.
Michael Tiu Lim, president of the local ICT Council also joined the event.
The other cities were Balanga, Batangas, General Santos, Iligan, Legaspi, Puerto Princesa, Tuguegarao and Taytay. The event was spearheaded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in partnership with the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines and Leechiu Property Consultants.
DICT said Zamboanga City has been identified as one of the 25 Digital Cities of 2025. Previously termed Next Wave Cities, the Digital Cities 2025 program aims to strengthen the industry-readiness of new centers by creating and developing ICT hubs in identified locations.

development and providing a strategy for how stakeholders would support its
