Get fully vaccinated for November exams, SC urges Bar takers

THE SUPREME Court (SC) on Wednesday urged examinees who will take the Bar examinations in November to get fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In Bar Bulletin No. 22, series of 2021, Bar examinations chairperson, Associate Justice Marvic Leonen said the tribunal “aims to have all the approved Bar applicants fully vaccinated before November".

"For the protection of the bar personnel and examinees, we encourage our approved bar applicants to avail of the free vaccination offered by their respective local government units,” he said.

Leonen said they are working with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to include applicants who do not fall under the A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities), and A4 (front-liners in essential sectors) priority groups.

“We have had positive discussions with the vaccine czar (Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.) regarding this request,” he added.

Leonen said Covid-19 safety protocols for the Bar exams will be announced in early October and urged examinees to “not spread false information”.

“Advise those who do so or burden others by broadcasting their needless anxiety that they are doing everyone a disservice,” he said.( Benjamin Pulta)
