ZAMBOANGA CITY has so far vaccinated at least 12 percent of its population of almost one million people.
The City Health Office under Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite has announced that over 90,000 residents had been vaccinated against the deadly Covid-19 respiratory disease and is targeting at least 700,000 people to be able to reach herd immunity.
Miravite said the government’s mass vaccination program will only be successful if the herd immunity is achieved and for residents to strictly follow the health protocols and quarantine guidelines even if they are fully inoculated.
Although reaching the herd immunity is still too far a stretch to accomplish due to the lack of Covid-19 vaccines, Miravite said the local government is doing its best to attain its vaccination target and protect the public health. (Mario O. Feliciano Jr)
