THE BENGUET Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Beneco) Board of Directors (BOD) on Wednesday complied with the National Electrification Administration's (NEA) order to submit within 10 days the Performance Management Contract (PMC) of the newly appointed General Manager, lawyer Ana Maria Paz Rafael.
Lawyers Rocky Balisong, Willybroth Managtag, Joel Pasiwen, Jingboy Atonen, Thomas Padaco, Patrick Astudillo, Isagani Mamaril, Wilson Abaten, and Anne Lucille Ruiz said the NEA received the PMC at around 8:50 a.m.
The submitted document complies with the NEAs order on Aug. 27, 2021, duly received by both BOD president Esteban Somngi and secretary Enrique Moresto.
“The Board is hereby enjoined to accomplish the one-year Performance Management Contract and submit the same to this office within 10 days from execution together with the one-year work plan under item 3 and 4 of NEA Memorandum 2017-035 dated 24 October 2017,” the NEA said.
The lawyers who represent Rafael said "it is the proper thing to do as it is the only action called for by NEA after its appointment of Rafael as General Manager.”
The submission of the PMC completes the process of the appointment of Rafael as general manager of Beneco, they added.
Rafael was duly appointed as general manager of Beneco on July 29, 2021, after several months of being subjected to the rigorous selection process and scrutiny of the academic requirement and experience of the general manager.
