Cops arrest alleged drug dealer in sting ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in a sting operation Thursday in the southern port city of Zamboanga, officials said.

City Police Chief, Colonel Rexmel Reyes, said undercover cops arrested Elmer Esmiraji after selling a kilo of crystal meth in the coastal village of Arena Blanco. He said the crystal meth was worth at least P6.8 million. 

Reyes said the capture of the 24-year old Esmiraji was the result of careful planning by the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Lieutenant Vincent Perez and Police Station 4 commander Major Ramon Bautista Jr.

He lauded all those who participated in the operation and said the intensified anti-drugs campaign continues in an effort to eradicate the nefarious activities here.

 

Mayor Maria Isabelle Salazar also commended the police for “scoring anew in the anti-illegal drugs campaign in support of the war against drugs being spearheaded by President Rodrigo Duterte.” (Zamboanga Post)
