THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila or PLM said it put together a memorial service for members of its administrative staff who have passed away.
A staff-wide tribute and holy mass were offered by members of the PLM community on Monday in honor of seven departed members of its workforce. It said long-time colleagues and friends among PLM staff recalled their fond memories and the various contributions of the public servants to the community given their years of service to the University.
Many also called upon each other to stay strong and to pay attention to everyone’s physical and mental well-being, especially amid trying times due to the Covid-19 crisis.
PLM said prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of Bernardo Apepe of the University Security Office; Leobert Garcia of the Motorpool Service; Gloria Espina of the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Management; Reynaldo Medina of the Property and Supply Office; Alipio Jerome Adelino of the Accounting Office; Mario Mata of the General Services Office; and Alexander Ramirez of the Physical Facilities Management Office.
PLM President Emmanuel Leyco also expressed his gratitude for their service and dedication to the University. “Muli nating itatayo ang ating mga sarili,” President Leyco said in his speech. “Normal lang at inaasahan natin makaramdam ng pighati dahil sa kanilang pagkawala. Ngunit lagi nating isipin na hindi sila mawawala sa atin—ang mga alaala nila ay mananatili sa atin at siyang magiging inspirasyon at gabay natin sa ating paggawa.”
PLM said
it seeks to uphold the physical and mental health of its students, faculty, and
staff as they go through unprecedented hardships due to the pandemic. (Mindanao
