ZAMBOANGA RESIDENTS may soon enjoy going out on Sundays after Mayor Beng Climaco recommended the lifting of the weekend lockdown as the number of COVID-19 cases are decreasing and to help the business sector and provide livelihood opportunities to all.
The lockdown policy has been imposed as part of the measures to curb the spread of the deadly respiratory disease. During Sunday lockdown, the movement of people are limited, although those going to places of worship are allowed and so are health workers and those in essential and food services and APORs or authorized persons outside residence.
Climaco said the local COVID-19 task force which she heads are also studying several recommendations from various sectors on how to incentivize fully vaccinated individuals to encourage more people to inoculate.
The mayor called on residents to the
public health protocols. “Always wear face masks and follow minimum health
protocols, and have yourselves vaccinated. Ese el de atun vacuna de esperanza,
