THE NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Wednesday touted its accomplishments in its war against crime and ongoing efforts to contain the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
Citing the latest data, NCRPO Chief, Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division reported 97,208 crime incidents recorded from Nov. 10, 2020 to Dec. 5, 2021, which marks a 15-percent drop from the 114,787 crime incidents logged from Oct. 15, 2019 to Nov. 9, 2020.
Meanwhile, the Regional Operations Division said 1,079.69 grams of shabu and 802.47 grams of marijuana, with a total estimated street value of PHP7.4 million, were seized in operations from November 29 to December 3 this year, where 305 drug suspects were also arrested.
Over the same period, 10 loose firearms were seized while 11 suspects were arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
Also from November 29 to December 3, a total of 235 persons were arrested for illegal gambling while 53 most wanted persons and 103 other wanted persons were likewise arrested.
Danao further reported that the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division recorded 7,208 resolved cases from Nov. 10, 2020 to Dec. 3, 2021.
Meanwhile, he noted that the NCRPO has been looking after the health of its personnel amid the pandemic.
The NCRPO has logged 7,234 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with 7,209 recoveries, 22 deaths, and only three active cases.
Out of 23,671 personnel, 23,157 have been fully vaccinated, 371 have received their first dose, while 143 remain unvaccinated due to various medical conditions (with co-morbidity, pregnant, lactating, etc).
The Regional Medical and Dental Unit is continuously assessing unvaccinated personnel in coordination with their respective medical doctors, Danao said. (Christopher Lloyd Caliwan)
