THE INMATE who was shot by the convicts who escaped from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Monday has died, a prison official said on Wednesday.
Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag, in a television interview, said the inmate identified as Michael Dullavin was earlier taken to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa after sustaining gunshot wounds.
Aside from Dullavin, also wounded in the incident were three BuCor personnel -- Angelito Marquez, Mark Joseph Pesons, and Jancy Dagonas.
"While they were escaping ay may PDL din po na wala silang pakundangang binaril at naging wounded po yun but we have received news yesterday that the PDL na nabaril nila ay nag-expire na po at yun po ay palaya na sana within this month (they shot the PDL as they were escaping and we are told this person has since expired and was supposed to have completed his sentence within the month)," Chaclag said.
He, meanwhile, reiterated his plea for the public to come forward with information on the two other PDLs who are still at large -- Drakilou Falcon and Chris Ablas.
"Ganun po ka-violent itong dalawa na hinahunting po natin ngayon. So mag-ingat po ang ating mga kababayan kung may makita po silang suspicious-looking ay ipagpaalam po sa ating kapulisan at sa numbers po na na-publish po natin (These are violent men and we urge the public to report any suspicious men in their community to the police)," Chacglag said.
Falcon was convicted for robbery with homicide and illegal possession of firearms and has pending murder charges.
Meanwhile, Ablas, who was serving a sentence of reclusion perpetua without parole for robbery with homicide, was reported missing from Dorm 8C-2 of the NBP's Maximum Security Compound following Monday's incident.
The two other escapees -- Arvin Bio and Pacifico Adlawan -- died in a shootout with pursuing law enforcers on Monday. (Benjamin Pulta)
